Event islands drift into Ove for a few days and then vanish. They are where the fighting happens: conquer one, harvest its Wild Essence, loot its treasures and hold it against other players until it disappears.
When they appear
A new event island appears every hour. Its size class is rolled:
| Class | Chance | Wild Essence per field |
|---|---|---|
| Small (S) | 76.9% | 1× |
| Medium (M) | 14.4% | 2× |
| Large (L) | 4.8% | 3× |
| Rock roost | 3.8% | 1× |
An island stays for 0.8 to 4.1 days. Every week, early on Saturday, all event islands vanish together, and new ones start appearing again within the hour. No event island lasts past the end of a month either.
Starter islands. Players with fewer than 10'000 ranking points also get their own small islands, one every three hours, that only other new players can see. At the end of the month, players past the threshold move to the regular islands; nobody is ever moved back.
Conquering an island
- Attack the portal. An attack from another island takes 60 seconds and lands on the island's portal.
- The siege starts. Winning the portal starts a 5-minute siege. During it nobody else can attack the island, only you can move on it, and recruiting on it stops.
- Take the Crystal Heart. Fight your way from the portal to the island's Crystal Heart and capture it. The whole island becomes yours.
If another player owns the island, you have to capture the Crystal Heart before the siege ends or before your army on the island runs out; otherwise the defender keeps the whole island, including the fields you took.
Harvesting Wild Essence
Most fields on an event island produce Wild Essence while you hold them: 1 per minute on a small island, more on bigger ones (see the table above). Click a field with enough stored to collect it, or collect the whole island at once. Harvest field upgrades, harvesting artifacts and the Wild Harvest spell raise the output.
Conquering a Wild Essence field from another player also takes the Wild Essence stored on it. Wild Essence above 250'000 is cut at the end of every month.
What else is there
- Treasure fields pay loot and recruit Spotter Naki.
- Artifact fields hold an artifact for whoever captures them first.
- Field buffs and upgrades, which you pay for with Wild Essence on event islands.
- Some fields, such as magic forests, ash fields and Teryx nests, recruit units you cannot get at home.
Rock roosts
Now and then a rock roost appears instead: an island nobody can conquer by force. Players pay Wild Essence into a shared pool, and when it reaches 500'000, one of them wins the island. Your chance equals your share of the pool.
When the island vanishes
Check an island's timer before you invest in it. When it runs out, the island disappears and your units on it return home. Upgrades and stored Wild Essence on it are lost, so collect before the end.
