Dominion is the fast mode of Rise in Time: a battle royale for up to 20 players on a ring of islands that shrinks toward the centre. A round takes about half an hour, everyone starts from zero, and only one player wins.
How a round works
- Join. A new ranked round opens every hour, with a lobby of 11 minutes before it starts. You are offered 3 legends and pick one; it sets your starting army, Soulstones and runes.
- Expand. Everyone starts on a starter island of their own. Take its fields, then go through its portal to attack the islands further in.
- Survive the ring. The outer islands vanish one ring after another, with everything on them. Move inward in time.
- Win. The last island is the supreme island in the centre. The round ends when one player owns every field that is not held by the system.
The map
| Ring | Islands | Vanishes after |
|---|---|---|
| Starter islands | 20 | 10 minutes |
| Common islands | 8 | 15 minutes |
| Rare islands | 4 | 18 minutes |
| Supreme island | 1 | Never |
The minutes count from the start of the round. Every island further in holds stronger system armies, but also field buffs, artifacts and the fields of stronger units. See Islands for the details.
Fighting for islands
An attack from one island to another takes 30 seconds and cannot be called back. Taking an enemy portal starts an island siege: a short timer in which you must capture the island's Crystal Heart to win the whole island. The defender sees your attack coming, with its size and arrival time, but not your legend.
Economy
- Soulstones are the only currency inside a round. They come from treasure fields, won sieges and fights against system armies, and some legends start with extra.
- Spend them on runes (offense, defense and luck for the whole round) and field upgrades.
- Every field you hold recruits its unit continuously. Fighting other players earns Battle Points, which speed up your recruitment.
- Everything resets when the round ends: units, Soulstones, runes and fields.
Ranked and Skirmish
Ranked rounds count for the ranked ladder and pay rewards into your Ove account: Wild Essence scaled by your placement (up to 20'000), an extra 10'000 for your first round of the day, an artifact for the top three, and a Divine Stone and Light Essence for the winner. The Dominion rewards page lists them all.
Skirmish rounds are practice: the creator sets them up, every player picks any legend, and they neither change your rank nor pay match rewards.
