Tank

Tank is the defensive anchor of Dominion. It opens with a doubled starter army and a huge +150 defense-rune head start, so its fields are painful to crack from the very first minute. If your plan is to hold key islands and grind attackers down, Tank is the most forgiving legend in the game.

Starting loadout

Tank begins each Dominion round with a fixed package of units, Soulstones, runes:

Value
Starter units100× Druid Naki, 100× Grass Spirits
Starting Soulstones0
Starting runes+150 defense

How to play Tank

  • Lean into defense. Your +150 defense runes make every Grass Spirit and Druid Naki wall dramatically tougher than an opponent's at the same field level, so prioritise holding chokepoints and control fields over racing for map presence.
  • Stack your extra starter units on the fields you must not lose. Because you begin with 100 Grass Spirits on top of the standard Druid Naki, you can garrison two strong defensive fields immediately instead of one.
  • Upgrade defense fields first. The defense-rune lead compounds with field defense upgrades, turning a contested island into a fortress your rivals will bounce off repeatedly.

Synergies & counters

Works well with

Tank pairs naturally with economic legends in dual-legend bots — outlast the early game, then out-produce. As a human pick it is the safest counter to aggressive rushers like Glass Cannon and Gatebreaker, who trade their durability for burst you can simply absorb.

Watch out for

Tank struggles against attrition it cannot answer: Plague Bringer bypasses raw defense by infecting your stacks, and Demolisher can lock the very fields you are trying to hold. Against those, defend selectively rather than everywhere.

Verdict

A beginner-friendly, low-risk legend that rewards patient, positional play. Pick Tank when you want to dictate where fights happen and win them on defense.
