Wild Essence

Wild Essence is the event-island currency of the Ove world. It is harvested on special fields, spent on event-island field upgrades and granted as the main Ove reward for Dominion rounds.

Earning Wild Essence

  • Harvesting — Wild Essence fields on event islands produce Wild Essence over time. The harvest field buff speeds this up considerably.
  • Dominion rewards — every ranked Dominion round pays Wild Essence into your Ove account, scaled by where you finish: 20000 for the win, down to 5000 for last place. Rounds padded with bots pay proportionally less.
  • First round of the day — your first actively played ranked round each day adds a flat 10000 Wild Essence, regardless of placement.
  • Climbing the ladder — reaching a rank tier for the first time pays 5000 Wild Essence per tier level, once each. At month end your current tier pays out again.
  • Conquest — capturing certain event-island fields can grant stored Wild Essence.

Spending Wild Essence

Wild Essence is the upgrade currency on event and tournament islands: field upgrades (harvest, recruiting, attack, defense) as well as plague and healing upgrades there are paid with Wild Essence instead of Soulstones.

Because event islands despawn again, invest Wild Essence where it pays off within the island's lifetime — a harvest or recruiting upgrade early on an island you plan to hold is usually worth far more than a late defensive upgrade.
