Ove Event Islands

Event islands are the contested temporary islands in Ove. They appear for a limited time, offer stronger opportunities than the protected home island, and create the PvP and exploration loop of Ove.

What Event Islands Are

Ove mixes one protected Home Island per player with temporary event islands. Event islands spawn, stay available for a duration, and later disappear again.

The current Ove design treats event islands as the main source of outside pressure, artifacts, field-buff decisions and contested production opportunities.

Classes and Timing

Event islands are categorized into classes such as S, M and L. The backend controls the exact spawn cadence, despawn timing and class weighting.

Those exact numbers are tuning data and can change over time, but the overall player-facing rule stays the same: event islands are temporary, and stronger islands are more valuable and more contested.

Why They Matter

  • They expose players to open competition outside the protected home island.
  • They can provide better artifact and field-buff opportunities.
  • They are where many of Ove's meaningful conquests and sieges happen.
  • They connect short-term tactical play with long-term Ove progression.

Relation to Dominion

Dominion and Ove both use islands, portals and field control, but the mode goals are different. Dominion is a short session-based elimination mode; Ove is a persistent progression mode built around protected bases and temporary event-island loops.
