Runes

Runes are permanent account-level upgrades that strengthen your armies in battle or improve treasure looting. The backend is the source of truth for rune prices and effects; the Orb article focuses on the parts players need in order to understand what the system actually does.

Basic Rune Categories

Offense

Offense runes increase the attacking power of your armies. They apply when you are the attacker in a fight.

Defense

Defense runes increase the defensive power of your armies. They apply when your field is being attacked.

Speed

Speed runes improve movement speed, which reduces travel time between fields and islands where the current game mode allows movement-based timing to matter.

Luck

Luck affects treasure rolls. Higher Luck increases the size of the better treasure-tier windows before the remaining probability falls through to the lowest tier.

How Runes Interact with Combat

Runes are part of the same broader strength calculation as artifacts and field upgrades. They do not replace those systems; they stack with them.

For battle fundamentals and examples, see the Fight System article.

Luck and Treasure Tiers

The Orb treasure page uses the backend treasure-luck formula directly. This means the percentages displayed there are intended to stay in sync with the real game instead of being maintained manually.

If you want to inspect the current distribution visually, open the Treasure Rotation tool.
